Lock 42, "Hambleton's" May 2002 - The lock has suffered a lot since Richard Heidel photographed it
in 1954. In the background of this shot you can see the Sprucevale bridge whose
abutments were made from the stone of Lock 43. The road now goes over where
Lock 43 used to be, between the bridge and Hambleton's Mill. |
