Note: The numbering of the locks in this section have been revamped to follow the numbering used in the auction papers of 1854. See A note on Lock Numbering for the reasoning behind this. The numbers diverge from Gard & Vodrey at Lock 47. What G&V called Lock 47, the auction papers said was an un-numbered guard lock at Dam 15. Very little remains now of the lock or the dam. Loomis numbered all the guard locks in his book so his numbers diverge from G&V at Lock 50. Both books left out Lock 54 between Dam 19 and Lock 55 which the auction papers included. Unfortunately, the pictures of Lock 54 don't show the remaining stone as well as it is visible to the naked eye.
